10110810 Heads , Anyone know flow #s ? Are they Any Good ?

Postby 88S10Durango » Thu Apr 10, 2008 12:04 pm

  Hi with my recent 350 purchase the engine was bored 40 over but the block was not decked , they put replacement dish pistons with a 15cc dish and a 1.540 pin height , the put 60 cc 354434 267-305 1.72" valve heads on it , I can`t afford to put the proper pin height pistons in it , hone it , and new rings , my spare set of 882 heads are shot , they need new guides , valves , seals and would drop the compresson down around 7.6 to 1 , not going to use them !! I have found a set of these 10110810 heads off a 92 350 for $ 100 at my wreckers , all I can find is they are a 65cc head and used on EFI engines , they will give me a 8.89 to 1 compression , my quench will be down to .060" using the FelPro 1094 gasket , previous owner had .041 gaskets in this engine , I can`t get the quench any better without changing pistons and that ain`t gonna happen ,lol , I`m putting my Comp xe250h cam into this engine , so the dynamic compression comes in around 7.76 to 1 , I need to run this thing on 89 octane max , and am looking for a torquey camper haulin engine , does anyone have any flow #s of these heads ?? Bill

LO5 truck heads, swirl ports aka boat anchors sorry Bill but those heads aren't aimed at performance

Thanks Foxman , my 882`s require to much work for me to put the money into , I`ve got to find another cheap set or mayby put some 1.94" intakes in the 354434 heads that came on this block , I`m scared that if I do that the intake runners will be to small for the 350 , told it will be torquey but after 5000 will get choked off from the small runners ?? Those heads would get you by if they're in good condition until you find a better set. I ran a the heads off my 267 on my 350 which bumped up the compression a good bit until my vortecs were ready to go on. but I managed to crack two pistons in the process (stupid me too much timing) they ran decent but I had a way bigger camshaft than you do (.525/.540, 300/310 avd dur) so it wasn't a dog my any means.

Sometimes you just gotta throw an engine together with the parts you've got

Howdy , I just measured up all the ports on both heads and am taking my 882`s in to be fixed ,= new guides and shaved .042 thou , will bring em down to 69cc , and give me 8.56 to 1 compression , the 434`s have got allmost a 1/4" difference in the port size and I`m not going to pull it apart down the road for another swap , even with the lower compression and my cam the hp levels are still higher than the smaller heads , I`m showing around 280 Hp with this setup , the 882`s have been gasket matched allready ,, I gotta pull the cam from the engine now as I`m curious as to what it is , there are dual valve springs ( not stock ) in the 434`s ?? Mayby its got a better cam , lol , machinest quoted me $ 240 to put new guides and shave em , Bill

Just the stock iron , at least they`ll all be new ,, lol ,, I`d like to get it up to 9.0 to 1 but am waiting on a price for flat top 1.560" pistons , I`m also going to ask the machinest how much to cut the exhaust seats for 1.6" valves , Bill

I hope your machinist put a valve job in that price because thats part of putting new guides in other wise your valves could wind up off center which definitely isnt good for a good seal
